You gave way more than I'd asked

In an environment so scary,
Where predictions don't work,
Where there's no assurance,
One day, I prayed for assistance.

I was almost shattered,
By the cruelty this world showed.
No mercy for my tears,
Nobody to make me cheer.

I befriended you,
Because you were soothing.
A soul that was wandering,
Found some healing.

I asked for a smile,
You gave me laughter,
I asked for a shoulder,
You gave me a pillow with soft texture.

I really don't understand,
How to repay your favour,
Your obligations for me will forever last,
You gave me way more than I'd asked.

एक आस है

हर मनुष्य के मन में,

आते हैं बहुत सपने,

सफलता के, कामयाबी के,

रहते हैं ऐसी ख्वाहिशें।

मगर उन सारी इच्छाओं के अलावा,

रहती है मन में एक भावना,

जो ज़िंदा रखती है उसे,

और हिम्मत देती है हर कदम पे।

एक आस है,

हर दिन मुझे सताए,

कुछ परिवर्तन करने को जी करता है,

कुछ हासिल करने से मन भरता है।

हमेशा अपने आप को,

हर मोड़ पर साबित करो,

यहाँ कुछ भी संभव नहीं,

पर महनत और लगन से सब होगा सही।

हमेशा स्वार्थ नहीं जीतेगा,

कभी दूसरों को भी शामिल करना पड़ेगा,

हर व्यक्ति को यकीन दिलाओ,

कि तुम्हारी सोच से बदलेगा हर शहर, हर गाँव।

एक आस है,

जो पूरा होकर रहेगा,

यह पूरी दुनिया की समस्याओं,

का अंत होकर रहेगा।
