The Girl With Dreamy Eyes

I once met a pretty girl in a cafe,
She was quietly sipping on her Latte,
She had the looks and expressions,
That could make any person get lost in admiration.

Her eyes were so attractive,
She looked so elegant, yet simple,
Every thought could be read,
Even if it wasn't said.

She was nicknamed ''The girl with dreamy eyes,"
A pair that could never speak lies,
No matter how hard she tried,
Her pain she could never hide.

Sorrow, bully, and harrasment,
She faced with resentment,
It was a part of her routine, I guess,
As she had a charred arm exposed with flesh.

Beauty lies,
In the beholder's eyes,
God blessed her with beauty,
But little did people understand her story.

May be she never got the chance to explain,
May be she was always shamed,
Nobody knows her struggles,
They're just interested in discussing her troubles.

Her eyes were the mirror,
To her heart that was about to shatter,
And overflow with emotions so deep,
That would make the world weep.

She had the power to engage,
She could easily leave her cage,
But she fights every situation,
To save her family's reputation.

Give her respect, love her,
Let her live without fear,
She has sacrificed her house to build yours,
Yet her contributions the society always ignores. © Kritika Bhatia
